    Wow Jacqueline, talk about no bedside manner - that is a complete understatement. This is a true testament to the power of love and endurance. What an awful experience to have happen while such a sad and stressful event is going on in your family.  I certainly hope this doctor has realized that he is not all knowing and the keeper of the keys, if you will.

    No disrespect to anyone in this situation.   My 57 year old wife has severe dementia.  Her neurologist states that her brain is shrinking so fast that she will probably die within 5 years.   I thank god that I had her sign a Durable Power of Attorney and a Advance Health Care Directive.  She is not going to be hooked up to tubes.
