Dear Friends,

Please know that there are almost 6 million caregivers who experience the stress and strain of trying to do this enormous task from afar.

Our organization was created to offer some relief. All of us have been
distance caregivers, and we have tried to provide a website to link caregivers with the services and resources they may seek. As you well know, the issues are complex and the local resources are very uneven.

please visit and let us hear from you.

MY husband and I are long-distance caregivers. We found a home care co. with this home care nurse/manager. She hired 2 black ladies for my father-in-law for around the clock. They are so nice that my father-in-law loves them although he is lonely because he lost most of his regular activities/ability to do the old stuff. My husband calls him twice a day. I hope the caregivers will stay us in the end. There is a possiblity that he may go to a skilled nursing home if they cannot handle it. We hope it won't come too soon. However the home care people also have their hangups - e.g., a sick father and a husband who needs medical attention. So we keep an eye open for the skilled nursing home. Hme care is also expensive.
