Hi everyone!!    Sorry I have been gone so long from this site but so much has happened in the last month!.  First off, I have placed Mom in a facility about two hours from my home. My Mom has little money and so I searched and searched to find somewhere I would be comfortable...

"Placing Mom was the hardest decision of my life. I felt like a failure in life."

Bill, nearly all of us who have been faced with this decision feel we've somehow failed. This decision will lead you through steps of grief, and eventually you'll wind your way through the steps toward acceptance and eventually knowledge that you did exactly the right thing. You are now able to be part of a team. You turned your mother's health care over to people who can be with her 24/7 because they are many in number - you are only one. After you've gone through the grief and un-earned guilt process, you will know that you are a better caregiver because you've asked for help.

Blessings, Bill. Thanks for keeping us posted.

     Bill,

All of us are sharing in your victories  with you. You have finally made it through one of the dark valleys thar many of us have travrsed and you made it through!  And, the bonus was that your sister came aboard and now you have a much better relationship.  That is wonderful. Siblings can be such good comrades with whom to get through the slings and arrows of adversities.  I have two very dear younger brothers, so I know.

I think your intention to create a guide for future novices who will follow your trail is very commendable.  Who will do it but one like you?  I'll be watching for your postings, which I am assuming will be upon this site.  Right?

    Best to you,

    Sojourner
