I had my first real scare from the assisted living facility where Mom lives.  Thursday I get a call from Mary, She is management there.  She had told me they found Mom in the garden, unconscious and that the paramedics were working on her..  Holy Crap, talk about freaking out............ I told her I was on my way. I made the 2 1/2 drive in about 1 1/2 hours and when I got to the hospital I was shocked to see my Mom in her isolation robe greeting "EVERYONE"  in the ER..  She looks over at me, smiles and tells me " great timing, I get off in 10 minutes"...  She had somehow snuck out of isolation and was jabbering it up with everyone. I took her back towards the ER rooms and they told me we couldn't be out walking around. I introduced myself and told them where I found Mom and asked just what sort of operation they were running. "she has Alzeimers and I was told she was unconscious.  At that point I was introduced to her doctor and she tried to explian they were trying to find out what was wrong too..  Mom was red on her right side, very white skin tone and starting to get agitated. Finaly, some of the test came back and to start off she had a UTI, her temp. when admitted was 105 so she had ice packed around her. They were thinking heat stroke or something along those lines. Dehydrated and on a IV, well,  she had ripped that out of her arm.. her heart moniter she had completly ripped the wires out of it. she had gone thru every drawer pulling everthing out.. Holy crap you should have seen this place.. I have to laugh some. Looked like a hurricane had gone thru the place.  Now she starts to urinate and poo... OH MY GOD...  I MEAN, How does a little lady hold that much in herself.. UGG  gross  now I am gagging trying to clean mom....  of course nurses come in right in time for me to scream... out of my way.....   barley made it to the sink.........    lordy lordy.... sorry i know this is to much info but DAMN....

Mom was admitted to her own room as they treated her UTI and waited for blood cultures. I guess it take awhile.. Saturday I was cleaning her after another accident and noticed a deep open sore on her outer lower right hip the above it more large blisters. Called in a nurse and we then striped mom down. they tried to get me to leave... ha....noway....  found rash's, blisters, scrapes and bruises... Some I know are from the roses out back in the garden, some of the bruises were normal for her some not..  She must have fell?? They are checking on the blisters for me and rash's.....

Mom is doing better today, antibiotics helped the UTI and rash's. her blood culture came back with something abnormal growing... more antibiotics.. Moms personality.....PRICELESS...  Me, well...... I could sure use a strong drink...can't though..

Sort of looks like the heat started all of this along with the UTI ?  she can't control her boby functions now so they need to check her more often..
