 Hi Gang,

Last time I wrote I told you of moms cellulitus/infection. Her cellulitus has settled down and now we are dealing with the infection. She is on 4 IV antibiotics per day. and it seems to be helping. The infection is a wound on her right outside calf area. It is big and deep..  Mom being mom makes everything difficult. She pulls her leg dressing off at night time and now and then pulls the IV thing out of her arm. Oh yea, they have moved mom to skilled nursing. All the moving around hasn't made anything easier. confusion and fear along with sundowning make things interesting to say the least. They have her in a private room because she had pulled the hair of another patient and hit another in the face.. What a horrible thing to hear over the phone. I met and apologised to the other families, thankfully nobody was hurt and they accepted my apology. Their understanding doesn't make me feel any better about the incident. Yesterday mom fell and hit her head. They were checking her vitals every 15 minutes and looking for other signs of trauma. Head xray along with a visit from the doctor.. Everything is fine as of this time.

For all of you that have read my posting fromthe beginning, you know mom is full of non stop events. I thought this would ease up on me when I moved her to assisted living. Dummy me.... I was to tired to understand that I just would not be there 24/7. Things still happen.

On a cool note, In this skilled nursing facility lives a man who has something wrong with his arm and is blind, He never stops singing and has a incredible voice. This man is a human juke box. I am yet to find a song he doesn't know. He also plays the piano and his family donated a baby grand to the facility so he can play.. We have had a blast singing the blues and some sinatra(just wish I could sing)....I was asked to bring my guitar so I really look forward to playing with this man... I'm sorry, his name is Raymond.. I just wanted to let you all know there is good in my life!!    :)))
