caregiving, dementia, Alzheimers
In 1993 my husband was suddenly diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. We had to keep it a secret, so in order to smile for him, I started a secret journal. When the doctor changed the Alzheimer's diagnosis, I showed my husband my journal. He said, "Publish it, it's our love story, it might help someone else." So after the book came out, I realized I wanted to help wipe away the caregivers tears, and I started a program called Adopt A Caregiver. It's a community project and I will talk more about it here later. I call it the gift that lasts forever and costs nothing. Keep love and kisses in your life. Helene
