Jorge, I feel for you and your family. Your doctor might try the combination of namenda & aricept. This has helped my husband enought to keep trying. He is still pretty bad but every little glimmer of hope is worth reaching for. How long has he been diagnosed and what stage? Elaine

Your dad's doctor should be contacted.  I agree with baylor13.  All that I've read, and from what a doctor told me, the combination of Aricept and Namenda is a good one.  I do hope that your dad's health improves.  He is very lucky to have a son who thinks enough of him to reach out to others for help.  Hopefully, you are taking time out for yourself to get some relief from the situation. Good luck!

My dad is on namenda as well, he is on aricept too. the "down hill" i think is a natural thing for alzheimers. i do not think you are imagining this, dad has been both for about 5 yrs. there is no way i could know if this has slowed the process.
