Just wanted to see if there are any other adult children of parents who have Early On-Set AD.  Just looking to find others out there in a similar situation.  It's tough finding an outlet that caters to someone like me.

Adult children who have to watch a parent go through Alzheimer's have their own needs. I hope you will hear directly from some of these folks. Keep tuned.

Meanwhile, many of the posts will be relavent to what you are going through.

    Take care,

    Carol

I am 46 and took care of my mom untill I had to find her a place to live. I just couldn't do it anymore. It is the toughest thing I have ever done. My mom,81 is now in a Alzhiemer's only assisted living. I feel better that she is there but yet on the other hand it breaks my heart. It is two hours away from me and that is two hours to far!!   KNow what I mean?

I have made my own "net wirk of friends" that are in the same situation that you and I are in. Some of my new friends are on the other side of the United States but it still works for me. I think It does for them too.

I grew up being the protector of the family,   lol now I am the caregiver.. doesn't seem right. The tough guy growing up and now I find myself crying on my bed at any given hour.

I hope you find the support you deserve. I know,  I am here for you if you ever want to chat or vent!   I don't log on as much as I should but I do check in a few times a week...

     HUGS to you

     Bill
