This post is so right. Fortunately so far we are not there yet. However, so far we have dealt with my FIL's residential home regarding some basic care. e.g., the choking issue, the razor issue and the walking issue about using a walker or wheelchair. So far we still entrust the nurses/doctor in the home, but I can tell there is a little conflict here: what we want may not be as same as what they are doing for the residents there. Our voice is heard by them but it is hard for us to decide if we should voice the issue... It is not easy.

Certainly health directive or living will helps. Thank God we just found the old piece of paper from my FIL saying he wants no artificial intervention.

 

I just hope all of people involved have the consicence to do the right thing.
