Good tips, Dorian. I think this is one of the most often asked questions from caregivers of people with dementia - how to calm the person. It's so painful to see someone we love anxious and upset and not be able to change that. My heart used to nearly break when Dad had bad days that couldn't be "fixed" no matter what we did. Your suggestions are all very helpful.
