For SHAME....Deleted posts re: Experimental Treatment for Dementia!

By Wallis Thursday, January 21, 2010

I am shocked and surprised to see all my posts deleted from the shareposts page, posts which regarded an experimental Dementia treatment!

Is the reason because there are NO Drugs in the treatment?

Is this a sorry example of the pharmaceutical companies being in bed with the scientific community?   I surely hope not.

Next week I will be presenting my theories of amyloid production  in the human body to an esteemed group of such researchers at a major university, my alma mater.

I intend to save all correspondence to this site just in case I need a blatant example of the marketing arm of the drug companies whose intent is, if this incident is a good example, to keep the drugs flowing to a public they wish to keep relatively uninformed.

What a SHAME if all degenerative illnesses of the body systems could be slowed by a FREE treatment protocol.....Look at the money that would be lost by the drug companies!.  Horrible if the populations of the world could actually, with knowledge, extend their lives without the use of cabinet full of expensive drugs.!  Then these companies might have to come up with a new business model.

I hope to hear from someone soon about my above concerns.

Wallis here, commenting about my own post above

To all, from me:

Although I am not promoting any product and have nothing to gain, and I did NOT present myself as an expert, I understand very well the need for rules......However, I was and am only letting this audience know from my own experience what I did to restore some of my brain power.  If nothing else,  this treatment  is  a great way to touch a patient gently; at worst it might give the patient a temporary headache.  When one is desperate and has nothing left to lose, why not?

If men will let the common Jock-Itch medication anywhere  near their "jocks", I don't think my suggestion for use on the face is extreme or irresponsible at all....and was recommended by my doctor.

I just received the following message from  HealthCentral

Hello,

I am the producer for the Alzheimer’s site on HealthCentral.  Your posts were deleted because they violated our terms of service.  We cannot allow the promotion of a specific product or web site on the site unless it is through one of our experts.

We certainly welcome your input to the site, but please keep in mind our terms of service before you do so.

Thank you,

I tried reading your posts, when you first posted them.  I am the primary caregiver for my mother.  It is wonderful that your method worked for you.

Most websites are monitored, and I regret that you feel you've been treated unfairly.  I have been on many websites like this, and all have fair use policies and are monitored.  The best websites will always be monitored for fair use. Your vehement response to this website's removal of your posts does not convince me that you were mis-treated.  This is a very useful website, to my thinking, and I'm grateful it is monitored.

Until there are exemplary tests that one can cite (and repeated trials), it seems best that, however happy one is with one's own method of "cure" and however convinced one is about this method, such a cure should not be disseminated to an uninformed audience on an open website.

My mother is doing very, very well, now that her alzheimers has been diagnosed and she is on medication. I would not consider administering anything other than tested medications to someone for such a serious issue as alzheimers.

By the way, I too am a professor, though not in this field.

I do agree with everything you have to say.  I feel, however, that the moderator who removed my posts should have at least emailed me to inform me that I had broken a "rule".  I did just join this forum.

I am also a professor, but as you, not in this field.   However, my experience with the medical professionals in general, clinicians as well as resesarchers, is that though they may be brilliant in their narrow fields of focus, they often know little about the the other discipllines.  I truly believe that some very dramatic observations have been overlooked by such professionals that, should they have better listening and observations skills and were willing to open up more readily to connecting information, might better serve their public.

Time and time again I have seen the "dots" connected by an outsider who had a broader view.  In this case, the analysis of the two systems which are at work here, the unconscious earth system  interfacing with the conscious human system, is the place of highest view.  That is where I begin my intellectual quest for understanding. The two approaches of broad and narrow focus have much to offer each other.

I have been sick for so very long that I was more than willing to be my own experimental rat....Sooooooo wonderful to have my brain back that I want to shout this to the rooftops.

I am quite delighted that you took the time to respond to my emotional outburst.  I'll admit, I am a bit dramatic for my audience at times!

Your excitement about your self-treatment was evident in your original messages and the efforts you took to get yourself posted online.  I appreciated that effort, and your followup now reveals your clear happiness that you've found something that works for you.  All of that is to the good.

I guess my own modus operandi follows the dictum offered by Falstaff, that discretion is the better part of valor.  I do believe discretion, especially on this website, is particularly important.  There are caregivers here, along with those who are experiencing the deleterious effects of this disease we're all trying to better understand.  I would be reluctant to tell anyone that one method is going to be better than another, in case it were not better at all.

I do hear you about the gap between what I might call holistic methods and those methods employed by the medicinal profession, but again, my own experience is that the medical advances have so helped my mother that I will be dubious about any other treatment.

I'm glad your method worked for you.  I hope you will stay with this website and report, occasionally, and perhaps with greater circumspection, on how things are going for you.  I'm sure I'm not the only one who saw your messages and wonder how this will ultimately work out for you.

Again....I agree with you.  I will try to "curb my enthusiam"....not easy now that I am getting stronger by the day. I had to leave my career about five years ago because I felt I could not predict my ability from day to day.....I'm almost back to full function, and I'll definitely post from time to time.

Best regards,

Wallis

Hi Wallis,

I am sorry you are living with dementia and I am glad your own method works out for you.
About the website and support groups, I have a support group for cancer (I love that group) and that group does not allow any donation site or any sites that is asking for money at all. One time long time ago I posted something about a well known cancer support site with lots of advertisement and donation request, I was told it cannot be posted.

It depends on the owner's request and conditions and how the owner of the website wants to protect the site.

I agree sometimes we need more info. but we can all search for those info. ourselves in google anyway.

My own opinion about your method is that I am glad it works out for you, but it may not work for everyone and it seems to be an alternative method, not traditional western medicine although it is practicing by the MD.

Regards,

Nina

I'm new to this site, but I can understand the 'site boss' wanted to control unhelpful advice or suggestions.  However, information on amyloid production should be a 'no brainer'.  I heard about it on an AD DVD and have wondered why I haven't heard more about it from doctors.

My husband's vascular dementia began with undetected (because he was thin) sleep apnea.  Stanford U was doing research on the correlation between the two, but haven't heard since.  I asked the docs at the time why they had to do a 7 year study to find out what happens to the brain when it is deprived of oxygen every night. They said, "I guess because the solution is air and not pharm. driven.
