Sharing meals with our loved ones as dementia takes its toll

Carol,

This post is great. I am sure this is not the only home that does the change. My father-in-law's home has similar changes. The shower room has this fancy tub that has openable door and the room does have colors in it. The whole house is set up so that the elderly has no idea it is a nursing home or "hospital". They even play personal music for the elderly. The only thing that may be missing is the classic music in the hallway like some of the homes.

However they change it, I think it shows that the society and health personnels now understand how to care for the elders with dementia.

The price is expensive and it may be private. I sure hope the homes with medicaid can improve greatly. It all needs budget and effort to do that.

We are lucky that this is happening right now.

Regards,
Nina
