If we’re alive, we are coping with a significant amount of stress. Yet stress hormones have been shown to have a negative effect on our health.

Dear Carol,
Thanks for the great post. I think caregivers are certainly likely to carry their stress around, and so this is a good reminder for us. But it's also a great reminder to everyone! How to cope with our hectic, pressured lives is something everyone might do well to learn.
Some of my favorite strategies are listening to instrumental music (lately, it's celtic harp or harp for relaxation and meditation), going for a walk with my favorite dog, and looking at recipes for healtful food (rich in antioxidants).
I think a crucial thing about stress is remembering that we sometimes can create our own stress by expecting too much of ourselves. Or letting other people's needs and expectations of us (and their judgments of us) interfere with our own sense of wellbeing. I try to stay away from people who are critical of others. Such people are real "downers" to be around!
You have, in the past, written well about coping with stress. Perhaps you'll find some of those posts and cluster them together for new readers into a new sharepost (as Christine sometimes does with her older shareposts).
As always, thanks for sharing.

Great idea, CJ! Stress is huge for most of us. We could maybe cluster them. I'll try to link back to more of them, also, when I re-address the subject, which I'm sure I will be doing.
Best,
Carol
