A mathematician can make numbers say just about anything he/she wants to say when it comes to research results.  You are right on when you say that though one can use research to give general ideas, the specifics are different for each particular case.  Thank you, Carol, for mentioning me in your piece.  I needed to hear those kind words.  Sometimes, the thought of having the big "D" can be overwhelming...usually--and especially--when I've tired myself out.  I'm still recovering from the family reunion a week later!  Now, i am planning the follow-up meeting and the program for my father's Christmas party which he throws for our six siblings and their spouses.  This year, I've chosen PENGUINS as the central theme so have been collecting penguin decorations, table cloths, knickknacks to use as table decorations, penguin trivia, and am designing a game (or trying to).  So, you were also right when you said I am approaching dementia head-on--refusing to roll over and play brain dead...You are providing such a wonderful service.  Keep up the good work!
