    Carol, there is MediCal or special assistance for poor people. There is a limit on the income in order to have such insurance. I am sure you know this. If you give him a lot of money in his account, he won't get MediCal. You can check social service about it.

    It is indeed a problem in the US - this health care issue is crucial. e.g., a middle-class person with cancer cannot buy health insurance unless he/she works and gets health insurance from work.

    Hi Nina,

    Thanks for your kind heart. We don't have that plan here in North Dakota, and I still support him for now. However, the time could come when he needs public assistance. I pray not.

    Sorry, MediCal is for Calif. residents. I thought it was a federal program like MediCaid and Medicare. I hope yiour son will be able to get better. Good luck! Thanks for your post and I did look at your blog earlier.
