Who doesn’t have questions about Elder Law? Sometimes we’re just curious. More often than not, we’re wondering what our elder’s rights are with Medicare, Medicaid, or how they are being treated in a facility.

The University of South Dakota provides an invaluable service through the ElderLaw Forum. The Forum is a public service of the University of South Dakota School of Law and is a extension of the Senior Legal Helpline, which is available to people 55 and older, free of cost at 1-800-747-1895.

Professor Michael Myers, who teaches Elder Law and Health Law & Policy at USD, helps people with questions, hosts a radio show which is archived on the Forum site and will respond to emails at mmyers@usd.edu. Myers also writes a weekly newspaper column.

Now, the book: “The Mayo Clinic and Blue Eyes ,” written by Professor Myers, is a collection of his columns. The title comes from one of the columns. It’s great fun to read, as Myers is irreverent and pithy. The book is, of course, informative, as well.

“The Mayo Clinc and Blue Eyes” is available from the USD ElderLaw Forum site. The whole package is well worth checking out.
