Hi there I had read the artcile and saw the video . since than I ve had my dad on the pure virgin coconut oil, He puts it on his toast..but was getting kinda sick of the taste..his helper hides it in his mashpotatoes etc but we think he may be on to us!! I went to the health food store in my area and they have the actual MCT oil, its an oil and not in the lard like form the coconut oil comes in...will this help just as well as the coconut oil.. my dad doesnt have alzhiemers but he has had a brain injury and had delerium from an infection,, they say he doesnt have dementia either but the brain injury presents the same way,,the coconut oil was making a major difference he was doing more , was more involved in his own life again, and always in a great mood..I really need to know if the MCT oil will work just as good, the health food store told me it will and that its actually better. Im taking ti to Him tomorrow and hopefully he can take it right off the spoon . Fingers crossed. Any help would be much appreciated. Leanne .

There are proponents of coconut oil who say it's been effective for treating dementia. Some studies say there is no proof. But my feeling is that if it's not hurting, why not try it? Since he hates the form you've been using, try the other and see if there's a difference. Until there are more studies you won't have proof. You don't have time to wait.

You should check with his doctor to see if there is a reason why he shouldn't have the oil, but if there isn't a compelling reason not to give it to him, then try whatever form he'll take and see what happens. Good luck. Please check back with us.

Thank You so much for replying so fast! I am taking the jar out to my Dad today and see if he likes it..I looked up MCT and its stronger (100%) MCT an the coconut oil is about 66% mct.  Im just worried that for some reason it wont work , and he will go back wards in his healing. Is there anything else in the coconut oil other than the MCT factor that helps with the memory? I know when the MCT digests it creates the keytones that feeds the brain..but any other factors?? thanks again,le
