Hi, Carol. This is such a timely article! I am so sorry for what all those folks have been going through. Your suggestions were very good. I would like to add one more. (You know me and my need for lists; my short term memory is almost non-existent.) I suggest that one makes a list of what they want to take in case of evacuation and put the list on the inside of the bedroom closet door. One may also want to keep a small suitcase near the list. On the list should be the item being taken which is familiar, such as a favorite blanket. One must plan exactly what will be needed and not rely on last minute thoughts. I hope the spring thaw and rains are kinder to you...

Leah, thank you for the suggestion! Posting a list in an obvious place is a great idea. Anyone can get flustered and having a list would help me a great deal, I know. I need to practice what I preach
I keep linking back to your posts from my blog. You are amazing, as always.
Blessings,
Carol
