    Great article, more power to her. As a REALLY elderly person I think she has the right attitude. We old foks are often treated as if we were children.

    Thanks for the kind words.

    I do a presentation on why we can't "parent our parents." It's so annoying when people treat elders as children - even if the elder has many problems due to dementia. They still have a lifetime behind them, and they need to be treated with respect. I never felt like a parent to my parents, even when I had to make nearly all of the decisions.

    I'm sitting here just shaking my head. I cannot believe that these stereotypes still exist. I had them when I was growing up--as a child. Not as an informed adult. Wow.
