Birth, graduations, marriage, anniversaries, death - important moments in our lives are often celebrated by some type of ceremony. In our middle to late years, we are often encouraged to plan the type of funeral we'd like, even pre-paying so our loved ones won't have to juggle business ...

Carol, This sounds like a wonderful program to help people "let go" of a cherished life. I hope that it catches on as more people hear about it. I've seen the chairs in the dining room where someone had eaten meals for months become suddenly empty. It's sad for the residents who are left to figure out what happened. There is no goodbye for them and that's a shame. It's hard for the caregivers and residents to deal with because the person is just plain gone. Thank you for posting this! -- Joe
