Hi everyone,

I would love to tell you all the year ended well. Unfortunately 2008 ended badly and 2009 isn't looking a lot better. Not totally true we had a Christmas miracle. This was the first year my great grandson spent away from home with his biofather. I say he is that because for such an intellectually smart man he has no common sense. He took my 21 month old great grandson to Arizona for Christmas without his mother they are divorced. This man put this baby in a car and driving way to fast didn't get 300 miles from home when he hit a deer and totaled his car. Did he call an ambulance for his baby no he looked at him thought he was fine and then at 3:00am he hitch hiked to the next town to rent a car. This baby was in a car seat but lets get real here who totals a car and then hitches to rent another car and continue on such a long trip with a 21 month old with out having him checked at a Hospital. My exson inlaw thats who. Long story short the baby is fine just traumatized as we all were. He didn't see a doctor until he was brought back we found out and immediately took him to the hospital. The miracle the deer hit his side of the car and not a scratch on his tiny head. God hand his hands around him.

The bad news my dear husband is worse. He is having some organ failure. We have had to switch from Home health care to Home hospice care. They wanted to do this New Years eve but I ask it be put off to the 1st. So new years day it signaled the begenning of the end. We aren't really sure how long the nurse and doctor says we will see. They are sure the Congestive heart failure is going to take him before the alzheimers.

I had no idea of how different Home Hospice care for an alzheimers patient was different from Home Health care or regular Hospice care. The past two days have been filled with new equipment arriving and new people in the house. Ray is not taking any of this well. He has become so withdrawn and frightened when new things happen and this is really bring this out much worse. The stranger that stays angry is back. Thankfully the new nurse is right on top of this and prescribed a medication that is workng some to calm him down. he has finally started taking a sleeping pill but still is refusing to take it until I am up at 2:00 am. I know this will take time and adjustments.

Thank you all so much for caring. Still loving and caring for my alzheimers patient.
