I have taken up photography...It seems to be one of a few things I am still pretty good at doing.  This is our baby robin on his/her first day out of the nest...I love the little pin feathers saying "I'm not quite finished yet..."  Just like me.  I am not finished yet, either, though I have re...

Thank you so much for your comments. Your sharepost definitely encouraged me to stop, smell the roses (and watch the bluejay at my birdfeeder), try new things, and create great memories together with loved ones.

Please keep us posted about your experiences; your insights are very valuable to this web community.

And most importantly - take care of yourself!

I am enjoying OurAlzheimer's.com site so very much. It is inspiring as well as informative. Good news: I have been accepted by Social Security to get disability benefits. I guess they didn't believe my psychologist--they had to get the truth from their own doctor. Whatever, I believe it to be a fair decision since I can no longer work in the educational field.

Today seems to be a good day...but a couple of days ago, I forgot my nighttime injection, my morning pills, and all of my insulin injections during the whole day. No wonder I was feeling so sick by 5 PM...took me two days to get back on the right track and to feel more normal.

This is the tragedy of dementia/alzheimer's...a perfectly well looking person who used to have a very high IQ and was over productive can NOW look the same, but be totally a different person. I thank God everyday for bringing me a supportive husband. He (my caregiver) is an angel...as all caregivers must be. They will get their rewards in Heaven, I am sure.

And this is one of those days. July 4th...it brings back wonderful days of my youth and family...and my current disability just smacks me in the face any time I try to do anything. I get frustrated with not being able to complete an activity...with getting into the car and wondering where we are going when I know I knew where just a few minutes ago...with wanting to get into the second chapter of how to crochet, but not having the ability to focus on it...

So, today's post is far from inspirational--more of a whine. It feels good to get it off my chest!

Thank you, Deborah.  My prayers are with you also.  Please continue to read my blogs--my next one relates the trouble I had being in charge of our family reunion this year.  I hope you will keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.

    God bless you.
