Hi Leah,

I'm so sorry that things are worsening for you. It's got to be frightening. You handle this better than anyone I can imagine, but as you say, your future frightens you. None of us know our future, but you do know what you'll likely face.

I feel that people's clumsy responses are well meant. Unfortunately, there's still a stigma attached to anything to do with the brain, be it dementia, depression, OCD or another ailment. So, people cover their own fear, knowing that this could happen to them, with a joke. They understand a broken arm and can see it. They figure it will heal. So they say, "Oh, that's too bad." But you won't heal, so they don't know what to say.

I hope this site can always help you, my friend. I also want to remind you of how many people you have helped and continue to help. Thank you for your post and please update us when you can. You mean a lot to us.

Blessings,

Carol
