Facing Daily Life with Vascular Dementia

By Leah, Health Guide Thursday, May 23, 2013
What a life, living with vascular dementia!  It seems that every thing is a struggle.  I know the words EVERY  THING should be written as EVERYTHING, but by dividing the word, I think that it increases its impact. Literally ALL that I do is a struggle!  I struggle to remember.&nbs...

Your attitude is amazing, Leah, and you teach us so much. I do feel that there's a place of happiness for some people as their dementia completely takes over. Certainly, that is better than constant frustration.

It pains your husband that you can't be the Leah you were, but since total recovery isn't likely, he will be happy for you to be happy, if that makes any sense to you. As M. Scott Peck said, "Life is difficult." A short but important statement. Yet, we find happiness where we can.

Your faith is what gets you through - your very personal connection to your God. Stay strong with that and you'll find your way, however it goes.

Blessings,

Carol

Yes, Carol...as long as I have God, my husband, you, and Health Central in my life, I expect to be happy for a very long time!!!  Of course, keeping busy with volunteer positions like Rescue Squad Auxiliary secretary and community association secretary AND continuing to learn new things (like using a router and making beautiful designs on wood) will help boost my morale, too!

Blessings to you!

Leah
