Thank you so much for all your entries, Leah, they are always inspiring and give such insight. Do you have vascular dementia? I dont quite understand - I know my father was diagnosed as dying from Alzheimers but I always felt it was multi-infarct dementia, which I believe IS vascular dementia? I know so little about this - but from the start of his dementia to his death (which was in fact from something else - he was 83) it was ten years. The same exactly with his brother, my uncle. So is Alzheimers a shorter progression? My father died 14 years ago now and I think things have progressed in knowledge.
Leah, I am so sorry, I am not sure whether I should post this to you or to Carol or where !!!! am only just getting myself together with the shareposts and have something myself called spatial dyslexia !! - which means I am four years old in the department of anything spatial, which does seem to include things to do with the internet!
Not even sure how I would get your reply either...lol..............anyway, forgive my rambling and I wish you and your husband a loving, wonderful year in 2008 with hardly any progression at all for you with the dementia...:)

Thank you, Cathrynn. I can't answer you about multi-infarct dementia. It could be the same as vascular. I have heard the term...just can't remember what it said about it. Dementia can be horrible, as well as Alzheimer's, if one gets it young (like in the fifties). One doctor told me in a young person, the disease moves rapidly along. As for Alzheimers progressing as rapidly as dementia or vice versa, it would be good to go to sites as ouralzheimers.com or alz.com to find info. There are other sites, too, as well as books which can give you info. I hope you continue to read on our site and you are welcome to comment at any time. God bless you.

Hi, Mazie. Your twin is lucky to have your support. Being there for her...encouraging her...helping her...that is the best you can do. I hope you never have to struggle as she does. Thanks for responding to my blog. Hope you will continue to read.
