FTD .... When the time comes for a home, start early on your search considering FTD, many homes for the elderly discriminate against people with FTD because they wander and are so uncontrollable and thus a liability. I do have a home caretaker a few days a week and do not know what I would do without her. My husband works 40 hour weeks, so I feel very alone in this. I know how hard it can be. The government cutting funds in California inspired me to launch http://supportdementiacaregivers.com/
This test of patients makes it so hard after they have broken wrists outside at night and fallen out of bed (tonight that happened to me). Also in situations of marriage some of us are caring for an in law. My own mother committed suicide. Life has a funny way of sometimes giving us more than we can handle (if you can forget about that footsteps poster). I have bad insomnia because we are visiting another home tomorrow http://www.gilbertguide.com/senior-care-directory/california/livermore-assisted-living-facilities.html. Hope she is accepted.

I, too, hope she is accepted. You can still be her advocate, but it's obviously too much for you to handle alone. No one can be awake and on call 24-hours a day.
Keep us posted,
Carol
