My Mom is currently in the hospital and my visitation is limited to 1 hour in the afternoon and 1 hour in the evening.  The last few days I have met a wife and her two sons who are visiting their husband/father in the same unit.  We have talked and shared our experiences as c...

You are right, Jan.  God is driving the bus and we all need to "let go of the wheel".  He knows better than anyone what is best and has a plan.

After reading your posts, it sounds like your entire family is suffering to me.  Your Mother is in safe hands with God and all of you may feel comfort in that.

My family is hurting and just incredibly sad.  I believe there is a reason for everything that happens in our lives which we may not understand but you are right, this is God's plan.  I remember when were children growing up and something happened that we were sad or disappointed about, my Mom always said, "When God closes a door, he opens a window".  I have always believed and found this to be true.  I take comfort in knowing that God is with us now and forever.

John, thank you for your kind words and keep us in your prayers.

I also grew up with that same saying (When God closes a door, he opens a window).   I've learned over the years with my own struggles, God resolves using some incredible solutions I never even dreamed of and every hurdle in my life was resolved perfectly by him.  He's always been there, I just didn't realize it at the time.

My Dad is too, suffering horrible with the same disease.  My family is in turmoil only because of all the pain and sadness we feel for Dad.   I know that all 8 of us are all working to find answers and solutions for Dad to help him.  The love we all have for Dad is incredible.

At some point, my family needs to let go, and let God take over the "wheel" too.
