The New York Times ran a story yesterday titled "In Hospice Care, Longer Lives Mean Money Lost", by Kevin Sack, which details the struggle between Hospice providers and the federal government, neither of whom want to cover the costs of hospice patients who are living longer than expect...
It sounds like a new direction needs to be taken on how to handle long term patient care including the costs and who is responsible.
One more battle to be won with this disease.
