Exercise for our Friends with Alzheimer's Disease

By The Senior Fitness Movement Wednesday, March 05, 2008
Many times when people think about older adults who should participate in Exercise they tend to exclude those who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease.

The fact is that people with Alzheimer's have the same risks of health problems as those who do not have Alzheimer's.

Exercise has been shown to improve physical and emotional fitness in those diagnosed with Alzheimer's and it should be encouraged.

Exercise programs for those with Alzheimer's should not be much different than those without Alzheimer's, and as with any successful exercise program it should be progressive and offer a variety of exercises.
