Having a healthy, nutritious diet can help prevent Alzheimer's disease. Avoiding foods that cause inflammation, such as red meat, can prevent swelling that releases free radicals and damages your neurons. Sticking to fruits and vegetables, such as blueberries and spinach, and good proteins, such as salmon, can repair damage done and improve your memory. In addition, folic acid and vitamins C and E can reduce your risk by 20 percent, if taken together.
