Insomnia

At a Glance

Having a chronic illness can cause sleep disturbances due to a variety of factors. For those with Alzheimer's, poor sleep can be due to general sleep problems experienced by elderly people, as well as increased confusion and agitation at night. Though sleeping pills can be used, they should not be overused to treat insomnia in Alzheimer's patients.
