Q: what happens to my moms house

my mom is in a nursing home and in a few months I have to apply for medicaid I am her power of attorney what rights do i have.Also I live in Indiana

That depends. Does she have a spouse living there? If not, once Medicaid needs the money they will put a lean on the property. You will need to work through them and may need to sell it. If she has a spouse living there, a lean will be placed on the property, but she won't be forced to sell until that person dies or must go to nursing care. This is general information. Each state is different with Medicaid, so check with the Medicaid people who are taking care of her.
