My 73 yr old mother was recently Alzheimer diagnosed. Is there any coalition that her sibling was an epileptic. Also, should I be concerned as I am Bipolar and is there a test I can take - I'm 49.

I'm sure you could be tested by a specialist, but if you are having no symptoms, it's not likely they will be able to tell you anything. Still, I'd mention your concerns to your doctor. At least you'd have it on your record that you are concerned, and if there is no test that can tell you anything now, there may be in the future.
Some studies show that people with depression are more at risk for Alzheimer's, but that is not conclusive, either. Checking with a good doctor (and don't be afraid to check with another one, if you get brushed off by the first), is a good idea. If a doctor you respect tells you that there's really no way to tell, since you have no symptoms, then I guess that's an answer, too. However, your are likely more at risk than the average person, just because of your family health history.
Take care,
Carol
Hi, K.,
Carol's feedback is great. I also wanted to chime in that like you, I have relatives who have Alzheimer's and I worry that I could also be at risk of developing this disease. With that said, I have tried over the past few years to be more vigilent with things that research is suggesting could slow or prevent Alzheimer's. These include preventative measures (such as healthy diet, exercise, stress relief) as well as trying new things to engage/challenge the brain. I'd encourage you to consider doing the same.
Take care!
Dorian
