You'd need a doctor's opinion on this, but I do know that the body eventually shuts down, organ by organ. It sort of "forgets" how to function. This likely affects the heart as well. Alzheimer's does end with death, but for some it's ten years and others it's twenty. Whether it causes something that is a confirmed "heart attack" I can't say, but maybe one of our medical people will chime in. Anyway, you'll want to check with a physician.

Take care,

Carol

Hi, Candi,

I agree with Carol. I'd also suggest that a person who has Alzheimer's can have other medical issues. In my mother's case, she had Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) from smoking for way too many years. Her limited lung capacity made her Alzheimer's worse. The combination of Alzheimer's and lung disease caused her to have difficulty swallowing, which meant she had to move to eating a thickened diet. And it was her lungs (and not Alzheimer's) that ultimately caused her death (due to a respiratory infection).

Take care and keep us posted!
