Q: Emergency home care for alzheimer's patient.

My mother,  who takes care of my father who has mild to mid level alzheimer's, has been admitted into a hospital for a few days.  My father needs 24 care, which is going to be very difficult for my brother and myself becaue of jobs, family, etc.  What's the best thing to do for this hopefully temporary situation?

Hi, Help,

I'm so sorry to hear about this situation. I know how difficult it is for you and your brother. I'd suggest that you call some home health care firms in your area to see if they can provide the type of assistance your father needs. You also may want to check on Adult Day Care which may provide a place for your father to go during the day.

Take care and keep us posted!
