Dear Editor:

I am writing to request your editorial submission guidelines and to suggest Charlotte Parker, author of Return to Joy: A Family’s Initiation into the Mysteries of Dementia (www.returntojoythebook.com), as a contributing editor to your publication. Ms. Parker is available as a one-time or regular contributor; she is also available for a Q&A column on the challenges and joys of caring for a parent with dementia.

I am happy to send a sample article, as well as a review copy of her book upon request.

Sixth generation Texans, Charlotte was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Charlotte received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a teaching certificate to teach Art in secondary school in 1967. After graduation, she spent a year in New York exploring and enjoying the wine bistros of Manhattan before settling in Dallas, Texas. She opened what proved to be one of the most successful restaurants in Dallas.  In 1989, she received her Bachelor of Science in Clinical Nutrition from UT Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. She splits her time between her home in Dallas, Texas, which she shares with her husband, Ron Schenk, Ph.D., Jungian analyst, and her ranch in Palo Pinto County.

Samples of Ms. Parker’s writing can be found on her blog, www.returntojoy.tumblr.com.
