Hi, Rose Mary,

My father-in-law's home care nurse gave him the pills like antibiotics with yogurt. If your mother has no problem with yogurt or some juice (not grapefruit juice which is bad for drugs), then you can mix the pills with these food and give them to her. She would not be aware of it. I think the yogurt is good but make sure she can tolerate yogurt. (Some people have diarrhea by taking too much milk or diary products.) For regular pills, yogurt is ok. Some antibiotics may cause diarrhea and yogurt may not be too good for it. Maybe you can try soups. My father-in-law chews pills, so they use the yogurt.

Hope this helps,

Nina

Hi Rose Mary,

I don't have this problem with my husband yet, but I took care of his grandmother and she flat refused to take her medication, she said we were trying to poison her as she thought the doctor was. He suggested her favorite food that was not heated, we were lucky she loved tuna and wanted it constantly. We mashed up the pills sprinkled it on and she never tasted the difference. You know what she likes so try her favorite that has the strongest taste and is not heated and put it in that. It's worth a try. Take care. Connie
