Generally Aricept and/or Namenda are used early on. It seems most often (I'm not answering as a medical person, but from what I read and hear) they start with a drug like Aricept and see how it's tolerated and how it works. Then, they sometimes add another drug like Namenda. There are more drugs on the market now, however, a doctor may have different "favorites" and different methods. Check them all out.

Take care,

Carol
