It has been found that IF you have a particular genetic type AND you also have cold sores then you are at a higher risk of developing AD.  Most people do have cold sores.  Most people do not have the genetic type that puts them at risk.  It is therefore unlikely that you are at greater risk of developing AD.   Since there is NOTHING you can do to change any risk, there is no point in worrying about it!   Best wishes, Marian Nicholson, Director, Herpes Viruses Association, www.hva.org.uk
