My husband and I are taking care of my father-in-law who has...

I am not a nurse so I cannot give your the correct info. Our memeber/expert Christine is a nurse and she knows what to do about this. You can email her or check out her posts.

Basically there are 2 situations for Alzheimer's patient: one is there are some factors that make him/her get up or sleep at the wrong time; the other one is that he/she is too sick to know the clock and will get up in the middle of the night.

You need to know the factors to act accordingly.

So far my father-in-law with severe Alzheimer's can still sleep at the right time (goes to bed 8-9pm, and gets up 8-9am.)

Regards,

Nina
