I've been in many situtations where I think the medication may be wrong for someone.
I don't think that it's a good idea to stop the medication without working with the doctor, but if you think it's wrong and the doctor won't consider another dosage or another drug, I'd see another doctor for a second opinion. I think it's important that you work with a doctor who respects your observations and opinion. If you see negative effects from a medication, he or she should listen to you and be willing to adjust things. After all, you are the one to observe your mother on a regular basis.
