    namenda tablets can they be crushed

    patient is taking liquid form of namenda - cannot get due to manufacturer backorder thru july.   can she take tablet form and can it be crushed and put in applesauce?

    I would say no-namenda cannot be crushed. But the best thing to do is contact the doctor who prescribed it and find out from him

      Christine is right on with this answer, though my first thought would have been the pharmacist. They tend to know more about prescripton drugs than anyone. Many drugs are time-released and you can't cut or crush them. Most that can be crushed or cut have a line down the middle indicating that you can halve them. But it's always best to check with a doctor or pharmacist to be abolutely sure.
