Hi Majd Kahhal
Whether you should add Tegretol to your mother's treatment of Alzheimer's with reminyl is a question only a doctor can answer. He/she will have access to her previous medical history and any side effects she has experienced before.
As far as I am aware Tegretol is not contraindicated with Reminyl. Mood stabilizers, of which Tegretol is one, are increasingly being used to help with behavioral difficulties, however other drugs are usually tried first.
Tegretol has been used for many years to treat epilepsy. However all drugs do have side effects, so do need to be prescribed by a doctor. I think other medications may be more effective and helpful to her. Please discuss this with your doctor
Best Wishes to you and your mother
Christine
