fungal infections

Mom has a variety of fungal infections going on. I would assume it is because her immune system is low. She also has heart problems, diabetes and lung cancer.  I would like to try to help her with this  maybe alleviate disconfort. The doctor and nurse told me it was from her many physical problems. Thank you for taking time to answer my questions-you were great!

I am so sorry that your Mom has lots of problem. I am not a medical personnel, but I imagine that monitoring is important for her. I don't know how she takes her medications, but I guess it takes a lot of work to make sure she takes the right things. Sometimes a nursing home does a better job for monitoring physical problems. Or just the respite service can offer relief. I can see that you have patience and your faith is strong.  You can check with the doctors and see what they think you should do. Being at home is best but you may be able to hire some helper or caregiver to help you out.

Take care,

Nina

You're right about her immune function being low. She's likely on many medicatons, which can challenge the body, as well. Some supplements may help her with this, though it's not a cure-all and won't help everyone.  I've written about anitoxidants on this site, and they help many people with overall health. So this may be something to try. I'm assuming the doctor has tried what he or she can, so it likely wouldn't hurt to try a potent antioxidant formula or other supplements to boost the immune system.
