Do you advertise this web site and if so where?
Before I found this web site I felt so alone and lost. I cannot begin to tell you how much the wonderful people here have helped me. As the primary caregiver you think before this happens and your loved one is first diagnosised what to do. I was in denial for so long I had waited to long to join an out side Alzheimer's support group and now its ot late. i can't leave my husband to attend meetings and this has helped more then I can express. I am an AARP member and recieve their magazine and a Disabled veteran and I have never seen this site advertised. Please I know there have to be so many people out there that need to find this place too. How can we get it advertised in our communities so that people that find themselves in this same situation can benefit from this site. I thank you for helping me and I really want to know that others can benefit from coming here. If I can help tell me how.
To the best of my knowledge, Connie, it's organic. I link back to the site from around the Web and carry the link on my email, as I believe others do. Word of mouth and the fact that Health Central is very large, as a network, gets the search engines going. Traffic builds. People like you are important. Spread the good word!
I am not in a position to say that there is no advertising, but I think most of it is in the form I mentioned. I've mentioned the site on radio interviews and in other work I do. Again, I would think others do the same. We all want to see people find the help they need, so we spread the word.
I've mentioned it in my newspaper column a number of times and carry the logo on my own site. Others do the same. Good things generally grow. It takes time, but when people catch on they keep coming back.
People like you are really what makes it work.
