Q: Advice / Assistance with Doctorate studies on the ethics of Providing Alzheimers care facilites

I am in the process of enrolling for a PhD in the ethics of the provision of Alzheimers Care. i.e. In South Africa, like I imagine the rest of the world, their has been a boom in the developemnt of Retirement villages. But although all are mandated by law to provide frail Care facilities on site, the same is not true in terms of the provision for Alzheimer's care Facilites (e.g in some Villages people who are diagnosed with ALZ are asked to leave - to seek care elsewhere) This can result in spouses who have been together all their lives being split up! The unaffected partner may no longer be able to drive...how then can they visit their loved one etc.?

I wish to please find out if any research or information is available on this topic?

Who could I contact?

Congratulations on enrolling in the Ph.D. program. I'd suggest you start with contacting the Alzheimer's Association (http://www.alz.org) to see what research might be out there.

Take care and keep us posted!
