Q: Mother who has vascular & Alzheimer's dementia, whispers.

Unless she has a physical problem (you may want a doctor to check her throat out), she may be paranoid about "someone" hearing her. Paranoia is very common with Alzheimer's. I'd just go with it if this is the case, but try to encourage her if she says "someone" may be listening. I wouldn't bring that up, but if she does, say, "I'll check around. Okay, it's fine to talk now."

 

Good luck with this. It's likely a phase and you may have to just go with it.
