My heartfelt sympathy, Gerifitz. You and he have a double whammy here. Please contact your local Alzheimer's agency and also your state's agency for the blind. They both should help guide you and you should recieve some suggestions on how to cope.  You also need lots of support. If you have a local support group or have a spiritual group, please use them. Try to get some respite care. Your state will have a version of The
Family Caregivers Support Program. Go to your state's Web site and check under aging services.

Take care,

Carol

You have a lot on your plate. Maybe you can check out some assisted-living place so you can get help to care for him. However, home is always the preferred one unless you have trouble to help him who has a little vision. Alzheimer's patient will get more difficult when he comes to moderate stage. Now if he is in early stage, it may be ok to care for him. You would need to prepare for what is to come next.
The other alternative is to hire caregivers or home health care so they can come to your home to bathe him or care for him for a short time to release your burden.

Take care,

Nina
