The presumption is that the current neurologist is advising you to see a neurologist who specializes in dementia; typically, neurologists or geriatricians are the most appropriate physicians to see for a condition like Alzheimer's disease.  Given your husband's young age, a geriatrician, a doctor who specializes in the elderly, would not be appropriate.  To locate a neurologist who specializes in dementia in your local area, there are a few options:  the American Academy of Neurology Web site has a search function at http://patients.aan.com/ and the National Institutes of Health's Alzheimer's Disease Education and Referral Center, which offers physician referrals through its hotline at 1-800-438-4380.
