Q: Does anyone practice therapeutic reminiscing with a family member with memory loss?

Obviously memory is a tricky thing with Alzheimer's or dementia, but so much of our identity, pride and comfort can come from aspects of our lives that occured in the past.  Often those with memory loss retain connections to aspects of their history, and I am wondering how others help encourage, foster or otherwise support this connection?

Families can always use a reminder about how important this is. Most good care facilities use this technique. History and legacy are vital to people as they age. Dementia actually intensifies the need to reminisce. Thanks for jogging our memories with this tip!
